A special concert honoring the legendary composer Nino Rota will take place on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the Auditorium of the United World College of the Adriatic ONLUS in Duino, Italy. The event, titled Nino Rota “Jazz,”will feature a jazz reinterpretation of Rota’s iconic film scores.
The performance will be led by musicians Matteo Scagliotto, Nino Zaninotto, and Simone Serafini, who will present a fresh take on Rota’s timeless melodies with original, sophisticated arrangements. The project aims to preserve the essence of Rota’s work while infusing it with contemporary jazz elements.
Matteo Scagliotto, who has rewritten the arrangements for this tribute, seeks to blend respect for the original compositions with a modern twist that offers both familiarity and innovation.
A highlight of the evening will be the participation of Nathan Kingston, a talented American-born saxophonist and student at the United World College, who will join the trio for several pieces.
