A historic building overlooking the Mandracchio in Muggia has been sold at auction for €162,000, surpassing its starting price of €108,000. The property, located on Riva De Amicis and owned by the Municipality of Muggia, was part of the local government’s divestment plan.

The auction, conducted through the eAppalti platform, attracted five bids. A local company secured the property, which consists of three floors and is situated just a few meters from the town’s small harbor.

Municipal officials framed the sale as part of a broader effort to repurpose and revitalize disused buildings. “This result underscores our administration’s commitment to redeveloping abandoned or closed properties,” said Andrea Mariucci, Muggia’s municipal councillor for budget and assets.

Mayor Paolo Polidori described the auction as a positive indicator of investor interest in Muggia, citing ongoing efforts to enhance the town’s infrastructure, including plans for the pedestrianization of the Mandracchio.

Further property sales may follow as part of the municipality’s redevelopment initiatives, officials said.
