Under clear blue skies, Triestini flocked outdoors Saturday to soak up the warmth of spring. Parks, cafés, and the city’s beloved Barcola promenade were alive with sun-seekers enjoying a brief reprieve from the region’s famously fickle weather. April 5 brought a golden afternoon that felt like an early promise of summer. But locals know better than to count on calm conditions for long. The Bora — Trieste’s powerful northeasterly wind — is expected to return on Sunday, April 6, sending temperatures plummeting and keeping beach towels and espresso cups indoors for now.
