The Trieste neighborhood of Roiano will host its annual Easter celebration, L’albero di Pasqua (The Easter Tree), from April 10 to 12 in Piazza tra i Rivi, featuring a local craft market and community-driven initiatives.

The event was officially presented on Friday during a press conference at City Hall. Attending were municipal officials Francesca Dambrosi, head of Economic Activities, and Barbara Comelli, head of Economic Promotion, as well as representatives from the organizing association Roiano Per Tutti Aps, including its president Dorotea Bottino and vice president Sergio Roiaz.

The initiative is co-organized by the Municipality of Trieste and Roiano Per Tutti Aps, in collaboration with the Third District Council—comprising Roiano, Gretta, Barcola, Cologna, and Scorcola—as well as a number of local organizations. These include the Habitat Micro Area, Oltre quella Sedia, the Italian Red Cross (CRI) of Trieste, the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association (AISM), and local elementary schools.

Rooted in the strong neighborhood identity of Roiano, the initiative follows in the footsteps of a Christmas market held in the same square. Organizers describe the Easter edition as a continuation of efforts to strengthen social ties through collaborative events.

The three-day market will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature handmade crafts produced by local association members. Additional programming includes participation by local preschool children, who will help decorate the Easter tree.

On Thursday, April 10, children from the Delfino Blu and Sorelle Agazzi preschools will add their creations to the tree, joined by parents and teachers. The following day, children from the L’Isola dei Tesori school will contribute their decorations.

The event is designed to foster community engagement while showcasing the creative work of local residents.
