The city of Trieste will welcome young footballers from across Europe later this month for the 32nd edition of the International Youth Soccer Tournament (Giovanissimi category), a long-standing fixture in the city’s sporting calendar.

The tournament, organized by A.S.D. San Luigi in collaboration with the City of Trieste, will take place from April 25 to 27 at the municipal sports grounds in San Luigi. It is expected to draw Under-15 teams from both Italy and abroad, reinforcing the event’s reputation as one of the premier youth competitions in the region.

A press conference to announce the tournament was held on April 17 at the San Luigi pitch. It was attended by Elisa Lodi, Trieste’s city councilor for sport; Mario Anzil, vice president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and regional councilor for culture and sport; Ezio Peruzzo, president of A.S.D. San Luigi Calcio; and Ermes Canciani, president of the regional soccer federation.

Now in its thirty-second year, the tournament has become a key showcase for emerging talent and a significant event for local youth sports. With several top-tier clubs expected to participate, organizers anticipate a strong turnout from both the local community and international visitors.

In her remarks, Councilor Lodi conveyed greetings from Trieste Mayor Roberto Dipiazza and emphasized the city’s support for initiatives that promote youth engagement through sport. She praised A.S.D. San Luigi Calcio for its dedication to nurturing young athletes and highlighted the tournament’s role in enhancing Trieste’s profile as a hub for international sports.

Further details about the participating teams and match schedule are expected to be released in the coming days.
