Starting today, April 19, 2025, the Mercatino delle Pulci (Flea Market) will make its return to the main square of Aurisina, organized by the cultural association Cose di Vecchie Case, with the support of the Municipality of Duino-Aurisina. The market will be held on the third Saturday of each month, with free entry.
This event, a long-awaited fixture in the local community, will run monthly until December 20, 2025. It will offer a curated selection of antiques, vintage items, handmade crafts, and DIY creations, with exhibitors from across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
From 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month, visitors will be able to explore a wide array of small antiques, vintage goods, and collectibles displayed in a market that promises to delight enthusiasts of these niches. As always, a range of intriguing curiosities will be on display, sure to attract both locals and tourists.
The flea market will be held at the newly inaugurated Piazza San Rocco, located in the heart of Aurisina. Widely regarded as the most beautiful square in the Carso region, it is home to various local dining establishments. The market will offer a chance to explore this historic square, alongside the opportunity to support local businesses and enjoy the culinary offerings in the area.
This return of the Mercatino delle Pulci marks a historic occasion for Aurisina, filling a gap that has long been anticipated by the community.
“By launching the flea market on the Saturday before Easter in Piazza San Rocco, we are starting a new monthly tradition that will last until December,” said Igor Gabrovec, Mayor of Duino-Aurisina. “This is the first official event after the inauguration on March 21. The Municipality is proud to support this initiative, which we believe will attract both residents and tourists interested in antiques and curios from bygone eras. It’s a chance to experience the square with joy and lightness, while also promoting local commerce and the restaurants in the area.”
Efrem Melani, president of the cultural association Cose di Vecchie Case, expressed his pleasure at the return to this historic square after several years of absence, now in a completely revitalized area.
The next Mercatino delle Pulci will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, weather permitting, from 8 a.m., with free entry.
