As the long Easter weekend unfolds in Friuli Venezia Giulia, locals and visitors alike are embracing the timid spring sunshine after days of rain. With Monday—Pasquetta—a public holiday, families are gathering in city parks, vineyards, and along the Adriatic coast for picnics and barbecues. In Trieste, cafés spill into piazzas as tourists enjoy espresso and sea views. Inland, hikers flock to the Carso hills, while villages host Easter markets and food festivals. “It’s about being outside and together,” says one Udine resident. With traditions rooted in community and nature, the region is savoring its slow, celebratory pause.
