The global phenomenon Mamma Mia! is returning to Italian stages in 2025, bringing its infectious ABBA-fueled charm to Trieste and Milan as part of its international tour.

The musical, which has captivated more than 65 million theatergoers worldwide since its 1999 debut on London’s West End, will run at the Rossetti theater from April 23 to 27, before moving to Milan’s TAM Teatro Arcimboldi for a two-week engagement from April 30 to May 11.

Il Rossetti and TAM Arcimboldi announced the tour stops this week, calling the production “an unforgettable journey into love, family, and friendship” that will “magically transform both theaters into a sun-drenched Greek island.”

Set to 22 of ABBA’s most beloved hits—including “Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” and “The Winner Takes It All”—Mamma Mia! tells the story of Sophie Sheridan, a young bride-to-be determined to discover the identity of her father by inviting three men from her mother Donna’s past to the island where they last met more than two decades ago. What follows is a musical romp filled with nostalgia, laughter, and irresistible pop anthems.

Since premiering in 1999, the musical has been staged in 50 productions and translated into 16 languages, making it one of the most successful musicals of all time. The 2025 Italian dates will mark 25 years since its debut, underscoring the show’s enduring appeal across generations.

Tickets for the Trieste performances are available at ilrossetti.itvivaticket.it, and ticketone.it, while Milan tickets can be purchased at teatroarcimboldi.it and ticketone.it.

Whether you’re a lifelong ABBA fan or discovering the magic of Mamma Mia! for the first time, these spring 2025 performances promise a celebration of joy, music, and theatrical spectacle—not to mention a brief escape to a Greek island, no passport required.
