Cirque du Soleil is set to bring its world-famous production Alegría – In a New Light to Trieste this summer, and with it, a wave of new job opportunities for local residents. The Canadian acrobatic troupe will hire 180 staff members for a range of roles during its month long stay in the city, from June 13 to July 13.

In anticipation of the arrival, the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government, in collaboration with Teatro Rossetti, will hold a Recruiting Day on May 20. The event is designed to connect the production with potential local hires for temporary work during the company’s stay—the only new Italian stop on its current European tour, marking Cirque du Soleil’s 40th anniversary.
“The scale of operations behind Cirque du Soleil is considerable, both in the variety of jobs involved and the number of staff required,” said Alessia Rosolen, the region’s councilor for labor, during a press event on Wednesday. “This initiative represents a significant opportunity for those interested in working closely with the performing arts.”
Open positions are expected to include roles in logistics, customer service, catering, maintenance, and more. Employment centers across the region will assist applicants in navigating the process.
Rosolen also emphasized the broader role that regional job centers now play in connecting employers with potential candidates. “We’ve seen a steady increase in trust in these services, from both companies and job seekers alike,” she said.
Interested candidates can apply through the official regional job portal.
Cirque du Soleil’s production of Alegría – In a New Light is a reimagining of one of the company’s most iconic shows, promising a blend of breathtaking acrobatics, theatrical storytelling, and immersive design.
