The beloved antique market “Un Pozzo di Occasioni” (“A Well of Opportunities”) is set to return to Opicina on Saturday, April 26. Organized by the cultural association Cose di Vecchie Case in collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste, the event now follows a revised schedule: rather than taking place on the third Thursday of each month, it will be held every fourth Saturday through the end of 2025.
This open-air market, which opens at 8 a.m. with free admission, offers a carefully curated selection of vintage items, modern collectibles, and artisanal crafts. Exhibitors from across the region will present an eclectic array of goods ranging from antique furnishings to handmade creations, all showcased in the heart of this Carso village.
Long established as a community staple, the market aims to revitalize Opicina’s historic center while boosting tourism and supporting the local economy. Organizers hope that the monthly gathering, with its vibrant stalls and nostalgic appeal, will draw both locals and visitors from the city.
Special emphasis is placed on vintage vinyl records, comic books, miniatures, scale models, and other collectible memorabilia—items that tend to delight enthusiasts and casual browsers alike. Alongside these, visitors can expect seasonal and spring-themed offerings from hobbyists and craftspeople, including handcrafted woodwork, ceramics, stained glass, and decorative pieces such as floral art and ornamental stones.
As the warmer months approach, the Opicina market continues to provide not only a shopping experience, but also a cultural one—connecting past and present through objects, artisanship, and the enduring charm of a village square.
