The city commemorated the 80th anniversary of the April 30, 1945 uprisings with a series of official events on Wednesday.
A solemn ceremony was held at 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Hall, where local officials and representatives gathered to reflect on the events that marked the final days of World War II in the region.
At 11:00 a.m., a traditional wreath-laying took place at the Resistance Memorial in the Park of Remembrance. The ceremony, attended by the mayor, honored those who participated in the city’s fight for liberation.
The uprisings of April 30, 1945, played a key role in the city’s history, as citizens rose up in resistance shortly before the arrival of Allied forces.
