Area Science Park, one of Italy’s premier research and innovation hubs, has announced the launch of Deep Tech Revolution, a €1 million initiative aimed at supporting the development of high-tech business ventures. The program targets startups, spin-offs, researchers, and research groups working on cutting-edge solutions in fields deemed critical to future innovation.
Five selected projects will each receive up to €200,000 in non-repayable funding. Half of this amount will be disbursed in cash to support research and development activities—including consultancy, equipment, and intangible assets—while the other half will be offered in the form of advanced technology services. These include access to research labs and infrastructures within Area Science Park, international study visits, mentorship, and research fellowships.
The initiative focuses on four strategic sectors: materials science, advanced digital technologies, green energy supply chains, and life sciences. According to Area Science Park, these fields have been identified as key areas for developing breakthrough innovations with far-reaching societal and economic impact.
The Deep Tech Revolution program is designed to foster frontier research and accelerate the commercialization of deep tech solutions emerging from both academic and industrial research settings.
More information about the call for proposals is available on the Area Science Park website: Deep Tech Revolution.
