The contemporary art exhibition “OPEN. Confini di luce per un mondo di pace” (Boundaries of Light for a World of Peace) opened on Friday, May 16, drawing a large audience to the “Carlo Sbisà” Hall in Magazzino 26, part of the revitalized Porto Vecchio-Porto Vivo area.

Curated and designed by architect Marianna Accerboni, the exhibition brings together works by living artists under a theme that blends visual light with a call for global peace. It marks another step in the cultural transformation of Trieste’s historic waterfront.

Among those present at the inauguration were local authorities, including Councillor for Culture and Tourism Giorgio Rossi, who highlighted the broader significance of the event. “The €50 million funding from the Ministry of Culture for the Porto Vecchio-Porto Vivo project included the vision of a major cultural hub,” Rossi said. “This exhibition represents that vision in action.”

The show is housed in Magazzino 26, a key building in the ongoing redevelopment of the former industrial port into a vibrant cultural and public space. The initiative aims to link art, heritage, and community engagement in a city long known for its cross-cultural identity.
