The Revoltella Museum has officially reopened its doors following a significant renovation aimed at improving accessibility and upgrading its public spaces. The initiative marks a step toward making the museum more inclusive, modern, and visitor-friendly.
Located at Via Armando Diaz 27, the museum underwent a comprehensive redesign of its entrance area, as part of a broader project funded by the European Union through the PNRR_MIC3 initiative and the NextGenerationEU program. The renovations include a new, more efficient ticketing area and a redesigned bookshop offering an expanded selection of publications, art objects, and cultural merchandise.
Restroom facilities have also been completely overhauled to improve comfort and accessibility. A new coat check and baggage deposit area have been added to enhance convenience and safety for visitors.
The updated spaces, integrated with the museum’s distinctive architectural identity inspired by Carlo Scarpa, reflect an emphasis on both aesthetics and functionality.
Additional upgrades are planned. The Marco Sofianopulo Auditorium is set to be redesigned as a more versatile venue for events, lectures, and cultural programming. Meanwhile, the Sala Scarpa will be renovated to better accommodate temporary exhibitions.
The museum is also working on the redevelopment of areas on its fifth floor, which will allow for the display of newly acquired works and recent donations, expanding the museum’s permanent collection.
The reopening signals the beginning of a new chapter for the Revoltella Museum — one that aims to position the institution not only as a center for art, but also as a space for community, culture, and engagement.
