On Wednesday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m., the Spazio Forum of the Museo LETS will host the Italian session of the cross-border conference “In Praise of Folly – Hvalnica Norosti – Pohvala Ludosti”, part of the 26th edition of the Forum Tomizza.

Running from May 21 to 24, this year’s Forum continues its tradition of rotating among the three Adriatic cities of Umag, Koper, and Trieste—places that shaped the life and work of author Fulvio Tomizza. The event is dedicated to fostering intercultural dialogue and collaboration across national and linguistic borders.

The Italian event in Trieste forms part of a wider program of Incontri internazionali di frontiera (International Border Meetings), a format now well established in the region. The conference brings together writers, academics, and artists from across Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia to reflect on the intersection of culture, identity, and shared history.

Organizers say the 2025 theme, “In Praise of Folly,” invites participants to explore the creative, philosophical, and sometimes subversive role of madness and nonconformity in literature and society.

The Trieste meeting will be held at Museo LETS, located in Piazza Hortis 4, and is open to the public.
