After days of steady rain, the sun returned to Friuli Venezia Giulia this weekend, drawing locals and tourists alike to the streets of downtown Trieste. Cafés overflowed, the waterfront buzzed with strollers and cyclists, and the Piazza Unità d’Italia basked in golden light. “It’s like the whole city exhaled,” said one resident sipping an aperitivo. Street musicians played, couples danced, and families licked melting gelato. With warm temperatures and clear skies forecast to continue, the city seems poised to savor every moment of this long-awaited springlike respite.
