Triskell Celtic Festival is back at the Ferdinandeo, with ten days and nights of celtic and folk music, crafts, dancing, workshops, and, of course, food and drinks.

The celebrations, which are organized by the Associazione Uther Pendragon and sponsored by the region and various local businesses, run 21 June-2 July

Full days of activities such as face painting, archery, dance, and craft workshops are available over the two weekends of the festival, with afternoon sessions on weekdays (check the program, as the activities require booking, though you can normally do this at the venue).

There are several activities aimed at kids, such as storytelling, model-making workshops, Harry Potter style wand-making and spell labs, and Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings-themed lessons and battles.

Artisans arrive from all over Italy to showcase traditional methods of making food and fabrics, wearing traditional clothing. A market selling traditionally made artwork and crafts, along with a kitchen and pub selling beer, mead, vegan crepes, corn on the cob, soup, polenta, and meat opens around sunset each evening. After dinner, there is live music, followed by a pyrotechnics show.

Although some of the workshops and sessions come with a small fee (often only five euro for materials), entrance to the festival is completely free. Hop on the 11 or 25 bus to the Ferdinandeo to be transported back in time and several hundred miles to the north!
