Italy has introduced designated parking spaces for pregnant women into the Highway Code for the first time under a new bill approved by the Italian government.
As part of the newly approved Infrastructure Decree, special pink parking places will be dedicated to pregnant women and parents with children under the age of two, reports news agency ANSA.
In addition, the bill provides for significant increases in fines for motorists who occupy parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities, with the new penalties between €168 and €672.
