After the regional decree of March 2nd many residents were wondering what it really meant to be allowed to take a walk “in the proximity of your home”. On March 22, the Prefecture of Trieste clarified that walking outside could be done within 500 meters of your house.
What a relief! But how how far away is 500 meters, really?
Max Jurcev, an electronic engineer from the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (Trieste) has come up with a solution. He built a page that allows you to calculate the radius of 500 meters from your address, by finding the street you live on and then double clicking on it.
“I created the page hoping it would be useful for everyone, without money on my mind. It’s free to use and share,” Max told Trieste Prima.

The Prefecture specified that the 500 m radius restriction applies to walks only. Cycling or running can still be practiced as before.
