From the author:
In June 2020, Europe reopens after the first lockdown, I load equipment and dogs on the van for a business trip to Sicily.
Soon the journey takes an unexpected course; that of a travel back in time in the footsteps of the civilizations that preceded us, unraveling from the glories of the Roman Empire, passing through the idealization of the Hellenistic age, continuing gradually in depth until it collides with the fury of the so-called peoples of the Sea.
7/6 ’20 -’21 – Our Journey When The World Stopped Spinning is the first chapter of a cycle called “Through Landscapes” (soon on television).
It’s about 365 days of the road trip from Sicily on the Turkish-Syrian border through a world emptied of its population; an intricated grid of trails that are not always evident but consequential. A solo journey covering 20,000+ Km, crossing eight countries, two continents, and one global pandemic thanks to 2 passports.
It is a transliminal place where collective knowledge meets personal experience, a testimonial about how a global crisis is turned into a series of opportunities.
A passionate serenade to life, aimed at discovering previously unknown people and places.
It is a chance to get in touch with something bigger than our little selves, a carousel of dreams manifesting themselves, an introspective process of knowledge and awe.
It talks about the journey inside one own self, intimate yet inclusive.
A place where it is futile to oppose the inevitability of life, but a moment of growth and awareness once accepting the outcomes.
Experiencing the alternation of joy and despair, and realizing that life is here and now is one of the central elements of this modern fairy tale which inextricably connects us to what surrounds us through some rituals.
