Deep Blue team, captained by Wendy Shmidt, wins the 54th edition of Barcolana regatta, making it a historical victory for the Triestine regatta.
Deep Blue team came in first in the 54th regatta Barcolana, beating the famous ARCA sgr captained by the local Furio Benussi and his team. Deep Blue crossed the last buoy in 57 minutes and 47 seconds, whilst the many time Barcolana winner ARCA sgr closed the race in 58 minutes and 46 seconds. The third place went to Portopiccolo’s Prosecco Doc which finished the race in 1 hour and 43 seconds.
It’s a historical moment for the grand Barcolana regatta, as Wendy Shmidt is the first female skipper to win the famous competition.
