Trieste marks the National Unity and Armed Forces Day on 4 November with flag-lowering ceremony in Piazza Unità at 10 am and 5 pm.

The date of the annual “Giorno dell’Unità nazionale e Giornata delle Forze Armate” coincides with the anniversary of the armistice of Villa Giusti in 1918, which ended world war one on the Italian front.

The mayor of Trieste and other FVG authorities will lay a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Re di Puglia in honor of Italy’s war dead and casualties of international peacekeeping missions.

Trieste will mark the National Unity and Armed Forces Day with flag lowering in Piazza Unità at 10 am and 5 pm. The lowering will be accompanied by a brief military concert by the Pozzuolo del Friuli brigade.
