The new exhibition space, which will be inaugurated in Piazza Della Borsa 1 Jube, was presented today by the Deputy Mayor, Serena Tonel, the general manager of Confcommercio Trieste, Elena Pellaschiar, and the coordinator of the initiative, Susanna Coronica.
The exhibition space “Artistic Crafts of Trieste in Piazza – CrafTS” are part of the summer markets galore in Trieste, and will enrich their offer with strictly “made in Trieste” proposals.
The initiative, proposed by the Municipality of Trieste together with a group of artisans and supported by Confcommercio, is going to present, in a glass exhibition space set up in Piazza Della Borsa, products that are the fruit of the skillful creative art of a fifteen local craft businesses.
Every day, from 1 June to 4 June, 10.30 am- 9 pm, locals and tourists can in fact be accompanied in the discovery of a sample of heterogeneous and niche products.
From wooden sculptures, to furnishing components, to organic cosmetics, which will also refer to plants and flora of the Karst plateau, to screen printing on fabrics, to “homemade” liqueurs, to costume jewelry and poor jewelry and much more.
Furthermore, thanks to a map that also includes a brief description of the participating activities, the potential buyer will be able to easily visualize the location of the various points of sale, which, in the square, present their creations “in preview” and only on display.
The objective of “Artistic Craftsmanship of Trieste in Piazza-CrafTS” – as highlighted by the organizers of the exhibition during the opening ceremony – is to enhance the commitment and craft skills that characterize many economic activities in the Julian area, often little known as far from the traditional distribution circuits, but able to make an important contribution to the commercial offer of the city.
