The city of Trieste is once again at the center of the national attention with the conference “Selecting Italy – Territorial Ecosystems and Governance for Attracting Foreign Investments” taking place this Wednesday in the Old Port, in the presence of regional and national authorities.
The mayor of Trieste Roberto Dipiazza spoke this morning (Wednesday 25 January) at the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, organized in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region on the theme “Selecting Italy – Territorial ecosystems and governance for attracting investments foreign”.
In his welcome speech, Mayor Dipiazza highlighted the important period that Trieste is going through, underlining “the great international interest in our city, with many investments in progress”.
In particular, the mayor underlined what is being done in the area of 65 hectares and with as many as 88 warehouses of the Old Port now Porto Vivo of Trieste. He highlighted the aspects and the economic repercussions linked to the scientific and technological research of the Porto Nuovo, now among the first in the Mediterranean, and from which 10,000 trains depart each year, as well as the value of tourism and the collapse of the borders with Croatia,. All this makes Trieste the center of the large area which includes cities such as Venice, Vienna, Ljubljana and Zagreb.
The first edition of “Selecting Italy – Territorial ecosystems and governance for attracting foreign investments”, which is to become an annual appointment to be held in turn in the various Italian regions, aims to present, to the widest and most qualified national and international public, how the regional system favors the various activities aimed at supporting and promoting the attraction of foreign investments in their territories, as well as highlighting the essential role of governance in defining successful and high quality policies.
