Comune di Trieste launched a new app for pet owners of our city which helps find answers to all pet-related questions you might have.
A new app was presented on Friday 20 January in the Tergeste room of the Trieste City Hall, during a press conference introduced by the Councilor for General Services with responsibility for Innovation technology and digital transition, Michele Lobianco in the presence of the Director of the Innovation and Citizen Services Department, Lorenzo Bandelli, the Director of the Environmental Services, Lucia Iammarino and the Head of Environmental Sustainability, Gian Piero Saccucci.
“We are here in the room where weddings are celebrated – Councilor Lobianco began – because today we celebrate the relationship between digital technology and the animal world, with the presentation of the new App “Fido&Micio”. I wanted to create this application dedicated to pets, dogs and cats, for which the Municipality has administrative responsibilities – explained Lobianco – as by now there are applications on any subject and there was a gap to fill from the point of view of communication with the offices of the Municipality that deal with a huge universe such as that of pets: just think that in the city we have more than 23,000 dogs and 6,000 cats equipped with microchips, with an estimate of over 50,000 domestic cats. And technological innovation can provide this universe with important support”.
“The application, which is agile and immediate – as underlined by Bandelli – was created by Media Technologies with graphics by Jan Sedmak and developed with the important contribution of the municipal offices in a very short time. It can be downloaded directly from the website of the Municipality of Trieste (www.comune.trieste.it) and the institutional social channels or through a QR code present on the flyers distributed at the Urp and the municipal offices, or directly from fidomicio.comune.trieste.it”.
“The app – concluded Bandelli – will be constantly updated also thanks to the contributions that citizens can send to the e-mail address urp@comune.trieste.it”.
The Media Technolgies technicians then illustrated the characteristics of the site’s App, showing the navigation methods and indicating the sections present: Fido, Micio, Emergencies and Notifications.
