«In the secret of sounds» kicks off on Monday 30 January 2023 at 5.30 pm, as part of the program of «Lunedì dello Schmidl» curated by Stefano Bianchi and organized by the Civic Theater Museum “Carlo Schmidl” and the Società dei Concerti of Trieste to discover the secrets of musical interpretation.
During the three meetings, the musicians of many chamber ensembles talk about their approach to the world of music and the choices they are called to make in order to restore the musical work to listening.
In the first part of each meeting, the performers will therefore talk about how they build their own vision of a piece, the technical challenges to solve, the musical tension to maintain, the strategies underlying the performance practice. In the second part they will perform the whole work.
Monday night will take off with the Virtuoso Quintet interpreting the Piano Quintet n.2 in A major, op.81 by Antonín Dvořák (Nehalozeves 1841, Prague 1904), at the Bazlen Hall of Palazzo Gopcevich, Monday 30 January 2023 at 17.30.
The following appointments are scheduled for Monday 27 March, with the Sonata for cello and piano n. 5 in D major op. 102 by Ludwig van Beethoven (in the Sala Bazlen) and on Monday 15 May with the Quartet in A flat major op. 118 by Dmitrij Šostakovič (in the “Marco Sofianopulo” Auditorium of the Revoltella Museum).
Composed by Kristina Mlinar and Teodora Kaličanin on violins, Ecem Eren on viola, Alice Romano on cello and Andrea Virtuoso on piano.
