The last weekend of July the neighborhoods of Melara, Opicina and Prosecco will be the stars of “Trieste Summer Away From The Center”.
This Thursday 27 July the summer program will begin with the workshop called “Kingdom of Fantasy”, in the Rozzol Melara district. The goal is to inspire children and teach them the magic of the theater, while they discover the basic rules while playing games. The event will take place at the Marinelli Municipal Library at 17:00.
The evening continues with Maxino, Flavio Furian, and Elisa Bombacigno who will perform “Crampi Elisi Live-Che rion Che rion”. A theater under the stars will allow them to play some skits along with musical pieces and cabaret for this special occasion.
Rozzol Melara will stay in the spotlight on Friday 28. At 20:00 a ventriloquist show, presented by Max Pederzoli, will be held from everyone to enjoy.
Reading workshops will also be part of this summer’s program. “We are poetry”, guided by Piero Guglielmino is an educational initiative that teaches listening and reading poetry, kids and adults alike.
Trieste Summer Out of Center is organized by the Theater Degli Sterpi, with the support of Hangar Teatri. Everything is planned by the Municipality of the city, along with the collaboration of the Tourism of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trieste Convention and Visitors Bureau.
To complete the cultural promotion it is impossible to forget about the music, especially the dialect songs. On Thursday 27 at 19:30 Fumo di Londra, the Triestin Folk Band will present modern, dynamic, and local songs that will be connected to Trieste’s history.
On Friday night “The Ekekos” band will light up the stage, creating an amazing mix of traditional cumbia rhythms and indie electric guitar. The day after, the concerts will move to Opicina and Prosvetni, a full evening focused on heavy psych, stoner, and 70’s sounds.
Moreover, two of the most promising bands from Trieste will playing a show: Buss and Samsation. The reason that brings them together this weekend is the stoner riffs and the love for 70’s music.
The events galore will culminate on Monday 31 July, with Wind Orchestra Città di Muggia and Società Bandistica – Godbeno Drustvo Nabrezina, two local bands that will be at the Slovenian Prosecco Cultural Club. Godbeno Drustvo Nabrezina’s group will play a variety of music, from typical Slovenian songs to airs, jazz, and modern pieces.
The best part is that all of the events are free, however they might be canceled if the weather’s bad. For more info, please visit hangarteatri.com.
