About a hundred Trieste women and men bathed fully clothed in solidarity with Muslim women this Sunday morning in the famous Pedocin beach.

A group of about 100 women and men bathed in their clothes this Sunday morning at Trieste’s famous gender-divided beach Pedocin to show solidarity with a group of Muslim women who were prevented from taking a dip in their clothes, dressed as their religion prescribes, a week ago.

One of the women said “we too are wearing burkinis to say it was wrong to stop the other women from bathing”.

The protesters chanted “Freedom, freedom” (libertà, libertà) as they held hands in a wide circle this Sunday, 20 August at 10.30 am.
