Soaring summer temperatures in the past few weeks in Trieste made us wonder how Trieste locals survive the heat.

European Travel Commission (ETC) data shows the number of people hoping to travel to the Mediterranean region up to November has fallen 10% compared to last year, when scorching weather led to droughts and wildfires.

But for those visiting our beautiful city, what’s the trick to staying cool?
