Casa del Cinema Association of Trieste launched the SET Discover app, available on Android and IPhone, which will help users discover movie sets and location shot in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The SET DISCOVER XR app offers a fun opportunity for everyone to learn about our region through cinema. The app offers guided itineraries to follow with your phone on cinema locations in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Thanks to the immersive content, the audio narration and the in-depth information, you can visit the well-known locations or discover the lesser-known ones.

The app is available in Italian and English, with historical, artistic, cultural, food and wine information on offer.

The itineraries will gradually be implemented to extend the network of cinema tourist routes throughout the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

There are two itineraries available: the first, designed by the journalist and film critic Elisa Grando, dedicated to the successful RAI television series “La porta rossa” in the locations that were the set of the adventures of the famous inspector Cagliostro played by Lino Guanciale. The second, designed by the critic and cinema expert Gianluca Guerra, “The world in a city”, talks of spies, secret agents and the Cold War on the streets of Trieste under the Allied Military Government between historical reality, thrillers and film adventures.

The project is managed by Cristina Sain who followed the development of the app and contents: “Giving life to a tool like SET DISCOVER cinematographic content is wonderful as it tells the story of the territory, and it is a wonderful tool both for tourists and locals alike.”
