The Rossetti’s theater season begins on October 3rd with Italo Svevo’s “Coscienza di Zeno” – directed by Paolo Valerio – a play filled with particular significance for the Triestine public and thus much anticipated.

“Taking on such a gigantic masterpiece in the city where it was originated – and thus the expectations are hight- hasn’t been an easy,” Valerio told us. “But it has also been incredibly rewarding. We have been rehearsing daily and can’t wait everyone to see the play this Tuesday.”

Zeno’s Conscience (La coscienza di Zeno) is a novel by Trieste-born writer Italo Svevo. The main character is Zeno Cosini, and the book is the fictional character’s memoirs that he keeps because his psychiatrist recommended to do so in order to overcome his illness. He writes about his father, his business, his wife, and his tobacco habit. The original English translation was published under the title Confessions of Zeno.

The show starts at 8.30 pm, tickets can be purchased at the Rossetti’s box office.
