The first major Barcolana ‘on land’ event, the Barcolana Sea Summit, is kicking off on Wednesday morning with a lecture by Jeremy Rifkin, an American political advisor and activist.
It will involve over 700 students from FVG secondary schools, as well as young researchers who over the past few weeks have prepared an installation to raise awareness of sustainability which will be on display at the Trieste Convention Center from Wednesday.
This edition’s main themes will be the preservation and management of the Mediterranean (with a lecture by Jeremy Rifkin); CEI’s great work in the administration of the upper Adriatic and in emergency management; the management of investments by Invitalia (CEO Bernardo Mattarella will be present on Wednesday); technology for sustainability with a focus on the role of satellites in environmental surveillance; investments in hydrogen production (Hera Group President will be present on Thursday); and the work of the Carabinieri Forestry Corps.
Friday’s speeches will center around land reclamation and dredging with a focus on Monfalcone’s case history. Please find the final programme HERE.
