The mayor called for high alert after the Italian town was submerged under “acqua alta,” an exceptionally high tide this Friday morning, 27 October.

The high tide resulted in the suspension of the Delfino Verde services to Muggia throughout this Friday, 27 October.

The services are expected to be back to normal tomorrow, 28 October, Saturday.

The residents of the coastal town 20 minutes way from Trieste were literally submerged up to their knees as they woke up this Friday morning with high tide alert in place until Saturday, 28 October.
