Trieste embraces the ghoulish festival of Halloween – still a slightly foreign concept in Italy – a little more each year with themed events and spooky shop-fronts becoming increasingly popular.

This year Halloween falls on Tuesday 31 October, followed on 1 November by All Saints’ Day, or Ognissanti, a public holiday in Italy.

Treste has special Halloween events for children, starting from 5 pm in Opicina neighborhood where the shops will be open for trick or treating for all dressed up kids, to various kids parties downtown. The Trieste Scientific museum will welcome kids and adults alike

We ventured out downtown #Trieste to see if our city’s dwellers celebrate tonight.
