Charity Event ‘On the Notes of a Dream’ to Benefit Hematology and Oncology Departments at Trieste’s Major Hospital

The third edition of the charitable concert “On the Notes of a Dream,” supporting the Hematology and Oncology departments of the Major Hospital in Trieste, organized by the University Health Company Giuliano Isontina ASUGI, is scheduled to take place at the Giuseppe Verdi Lyric Theater on December 13 at 8:00 PM. The event was announced today during a press conference held at the Trieste City Council’s Meeting Room and led by Deputy Mayor and Economic Policies and Theaters Councilor Serena Tonel.

Tonel commenced the conference, attended by representatives from various organizations, including Rosa Balanzin and Daniela Cola from the Open Sky Committee, Giuliano Polo, Superintendent of the Giuseppe Verdi Lyric Theater, Orchestra Director Walter Attanasi, Professor Francesco Zaja, Head of the Hematology Department, and Dr. Alessandra Guglielmi, Head of the Oncology Department at the Major Hospital in Trieste. Also present were Manuela Cattaruzza, President of the AIRC FVG Committee, Stefano Battista, President of the Rotary Club Alto Adriatico, Lidia Strain, a member of Lions Duino Aurisina, Adriano Kovačič, President of the Cooperative Credit Bank ZKB, Roberto Menis, Director of Trieste Marine Terminal, Paride Centazzo, manager of four Conad stores in the region, and actress Sabrina Censky.

The charitable concert, organized by the Open Sky Committee, is co-sponsored by the Trieste City Council and receives support from the CRTrieste Foundation and ASUGI. The AIRC Foundation Friuli Venezia Giulia Committee is also endorsing the initiative.

In addition to the concert, the initiative includes the donation of two scholarships to support promising students at the Giuseppe Tartini Music Conservatory in Trieste.

Rosa Balanzin and Daniela Cola, the organizers of the Open Sky Committee, expressed their excitement for the third edition of the concert, emphasizing the importance of their ongoing contributions to the community. They thanked the participants and highlighted the collaboration with AIRC this year, reinforcing their commitment to supporting research and the Hematology and Oncology departments of the Major Hospital.

The Deputy Mayor, Serena Tonel, praised the community’s generosity and commended the organizers and partners for their dedication to meaningful causes. She welcomed Maestro Walter Attanasi, an internationally renowned conductor, back to Trieste and expressed gratitude to the Giuseppe Verdi Lyric Theater for providing a prestigious venue for the event.

Maestro Walter Attanasi shared his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the cultural significance of using art to address social issues. He presented the concert program, featuring classical and cinematic pieces, and highlighted its accessibility to a diverse audience.

Giuliano Polo, Superintendent of the Giuseppe Verdi Lyric Theater, expressed his happiness in supporting such initiatives that contribute to the community. He acknowledged the collaboration with the Slovenian National Theater Orchestra of Maribor and praised the fruitful partnership with the Open Sky Committee.

Professor Francesco Zaja, Head of the Hematology Department at the Major Hospital, expressed his gratitude for the success of the event over the years. Dr. Alessandra Guglielmi, Head of the Oncology Department, extended thanks to all participants and hoped for a sold-out event.

Manuela Cattaruzza, President of the AIRC FVG Committee, reminded everyone of the foundation’s focus on funding cancer research and praised the community’s support.

As a part of the event, three Maserati cars sponsored by Ferri Auto SpA (Maserati Group) will be displayed at the theater entrance, and a Primo Aroma Caffè station, in collaboration with Lions Duino Aurisina, will offer a gift to those supporting the evening with additional contributions.
