In the coming days, PromoTurismoFVG is set to ramp up the number of accessible slopes and facilities. Special rates continue at Forni di Sopra-Sauris and Tarvisio, while other hubs offer off-peak prices.

Following the winter kick-off during the Immaculate Conception holiday, the skiing season in Friuli Venezia Giulia is expanding with the opening of additional slopes and facilities across its six ski resorts. Starting this Saturday – with some areas opening tomorrow and Friday – new operations will be in full swing to prepare for the peak skiing period during the holiday season.

The upcoming drop in temperatures will facilitate ongoing artificial snowmaking operations in certain sections of the ski domain where intervention was previously challenging.

Here are the details of the openings starting Saturday, December 16:

  • Piancavallo: All facilities will be open except for the Tremol 2 chairlift (Daini, Genzianella, Busa, Caprioli, and Bambi carpets, Casere, Busa Grande, Sole, and Tremol 1 chairlifts). Skiing will be available on the Busa Grande, Nazionale Bassa, Caprioli 2 and 3, Daini, Genzianella, Casere, Casere 2, Casere 3, and the Sauc ski weg slopes. The bob on rails will reopen on Saturday (from 1:30 PM to 4 PM), as well as Nevelandia for sleds and bobs, and the Ice Palace.
  • Sappada-Forni Avoltri: In Sappada, the Campetto 1 ski lift and its corresponding slope will be accessible, and from today, the Pian dei Nidi chairlift with its namesake trail will reopen. From Friday, the Eiben Col dei Mughi chairlift and the Eiben Col dei Mughi Nazionale slope will also be open, and from Saturday, the Monte Siera chairlift and the Touristic slope will be in full swing. Nevelandia is set to open on December 22. In Forni Avoltri, the biathlon facility, Carnia Arena in Piani di Luzza, remains partially open.
  • Forni di Sopra-Sauris: The facilities in Sauris will open on Saturday and Sunday with the carpet and the Sauris di Sotto ski lift, the corresponding slope, and the ski school area. In Forni di Sopra, starting Saturday in the Varmost area, slopes Varmost 2, Fienili, and Senas can be reached using the Varmost 1 and 2 lifts. In the Davost area, the ski lift, ski school and first steps carpets, and Davost and ski school slopes will be open. The Fantasy Park will also be open only on Saturday and Sunday, continuously from December 23.
  • Ravascletto-Zoncolan: The Monte Zoncolan cable car and the Valvan chairlift with the Zoncolan 2, 3, and 4 slopes remain open, as well as the Lausc and Cima Zoncolan carpets with their respective ski school areas. The Giro d’Italia chairlift and the Goles blue slope are also open. The opening of Pradibosco is scheduled for December 18, weather conditions permitting.
  • Tarvisio: Starting this Saturday, skiing will be available on the Duca d’Aosta, the upper part of Di Prampero, Florianca, Malga, and ski school slopes, served by the Lussari gondola, Priesnig, Tschopfen, Prasnig, Hutte, Duca D’Aosta, and Florianca chairlifts, as well as school carpets, Valle 1 and Valle 2. From Saturday, cross-country skiing will resume in Val Saisera, and partially open in Arena Paruzzi. The playground is scheduled to open on December 22.
  • Sella Nevea: All facilities remain open, including the Canin gondola, Prevala cable car, Gilberti chairlift, and the ski school carpet. All slopes are accessible except for the Canin Touristic 9 from the last junction downstream. The cross-country ring and the route for ski mountaineers are open, while the connection to the Slovenian station of Bovec remains inaccessible.

Special discounted skipass rates will be offered on the slopes of Forni di Sopra-Sauris and Tarvisio for the next few days (until Sunday). Prices, available at the ticket offices of various ski resorts, are set at €21.50 for adult daily passes, €19.50 for seniors (1949-1959), €7 for juniors (2005-2016), and over 75 (1948 and earlier), while babies ski for free. In Sappada-Forni Avoltri and Piancavallo (starting Saturday) and Sella Nevea (from tomorrow), off-peak season rates will be applied until December 17, inclusive, at €31 for adult daily passes, increasing to €44 from December 18. Ravascletto-Zoncolan will also offer off-peak season rates starting Saturday, and in case of openings below 40%, promotional rates will be applied.

Starting this weekend, where available, automatic ticket machines, a new feature of the season, will be operational for the purchase of off-peak season skipasses, multi-day passes, and subscriptions, but not for promotional rates (details on rates can be found at www.turismofvg.it/it/montagna365/tariffe/inverno-skipass-23-24-giornalieri-e-plurigiornalieri/poli-montani).

For updates on the status of slope and facility openings, it’s always possible to check the InfoNeve website (www.turismofvg.it/montagna/infoneve), and the next bulletin is scheduled for Sunday, December 17, with further updates on openings starting from Monday, December 18.

PromoTurismoFVG reminds everyone that interactive skimap is now available this year, allowing real-time updates on the status of slope and facility openings, including technical data, webcams, refreshment points on the slopes, sports, entertainment, and infrastructure (interactive skimap for each hub can be found and downloaded at www.turismofvg.it/it/montagna365).
