Enter the Christmas Bavisela, a 5,000-meter spectacle weaving through the heart of the city. This spirited run, orchestrated by the dynamic duo of the Miramar and Trieste Atletica associations, wasn’t just about breaking a sweat or setting personal records. No, it was a rallying cry against an age-old affliction that continues to mar our society. As participants laced up their running shoes, they weren’t just racing against the clock – they were racing against the persistent darkness of violence against women.
But it wasn’t all about the run; it was about making every stride count. The Bavisela didn’t just raise eyebrows; it raised a whopping 3,000 euros in registration proceeds. And where did that hefty sum find its purpose? None other than the Burlo Garofolo Maternity and Child Hospital. In a heartening move, the entire donation will fund the creation of a PINK ROOM – a sanctuary offering not just solace, but crucial psychological support for women grappling with the harrowing specter of violence.
