Embarking on a global escapade, the 2024 Costa Cruises World Tour kicks off today in Trieste, promising a whirlwind journey that spans more than four months, covering 52 destinations across 34 countries on five continents and navigating three vast oceans.
Costa Deliziosa, the floating marvel at the center of this epic expedition, is gearing up to welcome over 2,000 guests, predominantly hailing from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Austria, as per the cruise company’s announcement.
Over the next 134 days, the ship will chart a westward course from Italy, crossing the Atlantic to embrace the Caribbean vibes with stops in France, Spain, Morocco, and the Canary Islands. Following a dramatic passage through the Panama Canal, the odyssey continues with explorations of Ecuador, Chile, Peru, and Easter Island. Across the vast Pacific, the ship will make pitstops in the Polynesian islands before reaching the shores of Australia. The itinerary then takes a northern turn, visiting Japan and South Korea, before meandering westward again, making calls in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Oman, Jordan, and ultimately sailing back home to Italy.
Costa Cruises has also spilled the beans on the 2025 edition, revealing plans for a predominantly southern hemisphere exploration. Destinations on the radar include Brazil, Tierra del Fuego, Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and Namibia. Breaking tradition, the 2025 tour will set sail on December 7, 2024, from Trieste, offering boarding options in Catania, Civitavecchia/Rome, and Savona for eager globetrotters ready to embark on this unforgettable adventure.
