The municipality of Trieste has presented its plan for this year’s “Giornata dell’Infanzia” (Childhood Day), taking place Saturday, January 13. The goal of the event is to equip parents of children aged 0–6 with essential information about municipal nurseries, kindergartens, primary schools, and other early childhood services, as well as the necessary steps for enrollment in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Led by the Councilor for Family and Education Policies, Maurizio De Blasi, the virtual Giornata dell’Infanzia will be streamed from 10:00 to 12:00, during which parents’ questions will be addressed in real time. Subsequently, Open Days are to be held at the various educational facilities from Monday, January 15, to Friday, January 19.

As for long-term challenges in this domain, the municipality identified the need to address demographic decline and to enhance the provided services. This involves tackling obstacles related to available nursery spaces, a significant concern for many parents in the city. To this end, the municipality aims to create an additional 130 nursery spaces within the next 12 months. For further information, please visit www.triesteducazione.it.
