Keeping the festivities rolling, Friday, February 9th is packed with action across Trieste. Kicking off at 10:00 am in Barriera Vecchia, the Gaspardis School on Donadoni Street sets the stage for a classic neighborhood school parade, led by the lively tunes of the Refolo Band and the Arcobaleno Band. Teaming up with the V District, the procession wraps up with a lively bash at the San Vincenzo de’ Paoli oratory.
Meanwhile, over in the Borgo San Sergio district, another school parade gears up at 10:00 am, this time rocking to the beats of the Tritono Association and the Drum Squad. The San Sergio Martire Parish field is where it all culminates with an awards ceremony and a final round of celebration.
As the day progresses, the streets come alive with the San Giovanni neighborhood parade at 4:00 pm. Masked revelers gather at the VI District headquarters at Rotonda del Boschetto for some photo ops with Elena Bastiani before making their way to the IlGiulia Shopping Center for an evening of fun and dance with Be Nice.
In Valmaura, festivities kick off at 3:00 pm with a neighborhood parade featuring musical accompaniment by the Tritono Association. Starting from Bar Moreno, the parade winds its way to the football field on Pantaleone Street.
Wrapping up the day, Servola takes center stage at 5:00 pm with a parade led by the municipal entertainers, starting and ending at the Gentilli Recreation Center.
But the party doesn’t stop there. On Saturday, February 10th, Roiano hosts its own neighborhood parade at 3:00 pm, starting at the youth center on Moreri Street 22. With the Santa Barbara Philharmonic providing the soundtrack, the festivities continue with the 24th Free Theme Masked Contest awards and a lively bash at the Youth Center.
Kids can also join in the fun at Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia on Saturday from 2 pm to 5 pm, where Mauro Manni and Carol Miloch will be keeping the energy high with entertainment, music, and animation. And don’t miss out on the region’s largest mask round dance during the afternoon!
Sunday morning, February 11th, brings more music and animation to Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia from 10 am to 1 pm with Gianpaolo Bevitori.
And finally, mark your calendars for the grand finale on Sunday, February 11th at 3:30 pm in Servola, where everyone is invited to join the neighborhood Masked Parade, complete with masks and floats accompanied by the Refolo Band.
But the ultimate highlight awaits on Tuesday, February 13th, with the much-anticipated 30th Masked Parade, vying for the prestigious “Palio di Trieste”. Starting at 2:00 pm, the parade will follow the familiar route, led by speaker Maurizio Testi, from Piazza Oberdan to Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia for the crowning moment at the awards ceremony.
