In anticipation of the defusing operations of three bombs discovered in Slovenia, the Municipality of Gorizia has launched an extensive informational campaign. Scheduled for Sunday, March 17, these operations will require approximately a thousand residents within a 600-meter radius to vacate their homes for safety reasons.
As part of the municipality’s preparedness efforts, a comprehensive outreach strategy is being deployed to ensure that affected individuals are adequately informed. Plans include the establishment of a reception point and coordination with social services to facilitate the transfer of vulnerable individuals in collaboration with Asugi.
Mayor Rodolfo Ziberna underscores the importance of residents subscribing to the Alert System service, emphasizing its role in disseminating vital communications during emergencies.
In a further measure to accommodate affected residents, the Municipality will provide a sheltered space for both people and their pets at the local police headquarters in Sant’Ilario 11 courtyard. To facilitate access, a shuttle service will be available, departing from the urban bus stop on Via Caprin at 8 am.
Authorities urge residents to cooperate fully and adhere to safety protocols during the operation, emphasizing the paramount importance of ensuring public safety.
