In Trieste, Alessia Rosolen, the regional assessor for Education, Research, and University, delivered a statement at the University’s Aula Magna on Friday, emphasizing the city’s longstanding commitment to international collaboration, particularly within the Erasmus framework.

Her remarks were made during the Opening Conference of the National Platform ESN, titled ‘Sto lat! The University of Trieste and ESN Italy reaching a milestone,’ which commemorated both the University’s centenary and the thirty-year anniversary of the Erasmus Student Network.

Rosolen highlighted Trieste’s role as a hub for global engagement, citing the city’s diverse research sector, which annually welcomes 7300 students, researchers, and educators. She noted that this influx is emblematic of Trieste’s historical decision to embrace openness and foster intellectual exchange, particularly during the Cold War era.

As Trieste continues to prioritize its international relationships, Rosolen’s remarks underscore the city’s ongoing commitment to cultivating a cosmopolitan academic environment, inviting collaboration and dialogue on a global scale.
