In a bid to enhance efficiency and alleviate long queues, the Trieste Police Headquarters has implemented new measures to expedite passport issuance processes, in accordance with directives from the Ministry of the Interior – Department of Public Security.
Residents can now benefit from a series of enhancements introduced by the Trieste Police. These include an expanded appointment schedule with additional slots available, alongside the introduction of a priority booking system. The latter enables individuals with documented urgent needs stemming from reasons such as health, work, family, or tourism, to secure expedited appointments.
Moreover, the Trieste Police have extended the operating hours of their service counters and bolstered staffing to ensure smoother service delivery.
It’s worth noting that while reservations can be made in either the regular or priority schedules, bookings in the latter category are non-cancelable and require compelling evidence of urgency.
Presently, even under the regular schedule, swift appointment bookings are feasible, with the passport issuance process typically concluding within a few days post-initial appointment. This timeframe, however, remains contingent upon acquiring requisite approvals from external authorities, including other Police Headquarters, Embassies, Consulates, or through investigative procedures to address any potential impediments.
For the convenience of applicants, passport requests and accompanying declarations for minors can be made online via the dedicated platform accessible through digital identity verification (SPID and CIE).
