In a harmonious blend of art and music, the Revoltella Museum in Trieste sets the stage for the upcoming concert series “Paintings in Music – ‘800”. Scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th, at 7 PM, the event promises an enchanting evening of cultural immersion.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Trieste Concert Society and the Municipality, the penultimate “Concert Meeting” of the series will take place at the museum’s “Marco Sofianopulo” auditorium. Under the theme “Paintings in Music – ‘800”, the series aims to explore the captivating dialogue between music and art spanning the 19th and 20th centuries.

Following a successful autumn lineup, which delved into the intertwining realms of music and literature, as well as the intricate compositions of Franz Schubert, the forthcoming concerts will offer a fresh perspective. Attendees can anticipate a curated musical journey inspired by select artworks from the museum’s impressive collection, providing a unique sensory experience where sound and sight intertwine.

Renowned pianist Giuseppe Andaloro will take center stage, treating the audience to a repertoire featuring compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arnold Schönberg, Edvard Grieg, and Franz Liszt. His performance will be set against the backdrop of Carl Frithjof Smith’s acclaimed painting “After First Communion” (1892), renowned for its poignant realism and spiritual undertones.

The evening will be further enriched by insights from Susanna Gregorat, curator of the Revoltella Museum, and Marco Seco, Director of the Trieste Concert Society, offering a deeper understanding of the artistic symbiosis at play.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and the Municipality of Trieste, with generous contributions from the Kathleen Foreman Casali Benefic Foundation, as well as Main Sponsor Caffè Sacher Trieste and Artbonus Patrons, the series underscores the cultural richness of the region.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase online via Vivaticket or at the Concert Society’s headquarters, with on-site sales commencing one hour prior to the performance. For additional program details, visit the official website.
