In the tranquil gardens of Miramare Park, nestled along the shores of Trieste, Italy, an intriguing project is unfolding: statues are coming to life through storytelling. Imagine the statue of Ganymede, gazing wistfully beyond the sea, suddenly breaking its silence. What tales would it tell? What secrets might it reveal about the castle’s history?
This immersive experience, aptly named “Even the Statues Speak,” is the brainchild of A.C. CulturArti, an organization dedicated to cultural inclusion. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Miramare Castle Park, the project aims to redefine the way we engage with art and history.
Led by actors Caterina Bernardi and Alessandro Maione, alongside singer-songwriter Edoardo De Angelis, participants are invited to embark on a journey through time. They’ll uncover the hidden stories and guarded legacies of the park, brought to life through captivating performances.
Scheduled for Saturdays, April 20 and May 4, with contingency plans for inclement weather, the experience offers three distinct time slots to accommodate eager attendees. From 2:00 PM onward, visitors will be treated to a unique blend of theater and history, promising an unforgettable exploration of Miramare’s rich heritage.
Booking in advance is essential, with limited spots available for each session. Interested parties can secure their place through the provided link: bit.ly/aspmiramare.
Admission to both the park and the performance is graciously free, thanks to funding from the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The initiative is a collaborative effort, spearheaded by the Cultural Association CulturArti, in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Museums of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and the Historical Museum and Park of Miramare Castle.
Miramare Park is poised to become not only a sanctuary of natural beauty but also a stage where the echoes of history reverberate through the stone and foliage. In this enchanting setting, even the statues find their voices, inviting visitors to listen, learn, and immerse themselves in the timeless tales of Trieste’s past.
