At the Urban Center in Trieste, the Melting Pot of the Polo Tecnologico Alto Adriatico ‘Andrea Galvani’ presented the Lab Village of the University of Trieste’s iNEST SPOKE 8 project, which aims to promote innovation and participation through public-private collaboration activities in shared spaces between academic research and enterprises.

The iNEST (Interconnected North-East Innovation Ecosystem), financed by PNRR funds, involves 24 participating actors including 9 universities of the North-East of the country.

The goal within two years is to work in synergy for a digital and ecological transition in all specialisation areas of the North-East: the industrial-manufacturing, agriculture, sea, mountains, construction, tourism, culture, health and food sectors.

The activities proposed in Trieste fit into Spoke 8 (maritime, marine and inland water technologies sector) with the aim of creating a unique and dynamic ecosystem that promotes innovation and growth in the high-tech and biotech sector, with a strong focus on sustainability.

I define myself as an unconventional expat: I lived in Budapest for five years and I recently moved back to Trieste. Today I look at my homeland with different eyes, I love to (re)discover places of my childhood or to find new spots around the region. Living abroad and traveling around made me an open-minded and tolerant person and my studies in foreign languages and journalism gave me the right amount of creativity and curiosity to never stop exploring.
