In a bid to address the challenges posed by shifting climate patterns, the Municipality of Trieste has announced an extension of the heating season for the 2023-2024 period. This decision comes as the region, nestled in climate zone E, grapples with the need for sustainable heating practices while ensuring comfort and well-being for its residents.
Effective immediately, heating systems across the Trieste territory are permitted to operate from October 15th to April 15th, spanning a maximum of 14 hours per day. The prescribed operational hours, falling between 5 am and 11 pm, aim to strike a balance between energy conservation and the provision of essential warmth during colder months.
However, the extension doesn’t end there. Beyond the designated heating season, a provision allows for heating systems to remain active for up to 7 hours daily, sans additional permits. This allowance is contingent upon indoor temperatures being maintained between 20°-22°C, ensuring efficiency without compromising comfort.
