In the bustling city of Trieste, Italy, a new wave of entrepreneurial spirit is sweeping through the halls of academia. At the University of Trieste, the Contamination Lab (Clab) is gearing up for its seventh edition of training courses, set to kick off on Monday, May 6, 2024.
With a focus on equipping young minds with the tools and skills needed to thrive in the competitive world of business, the Clab stands as a beacon of innovation and opportunity. Led by UniTS, this hub aims to fast-track students’ entry into the job market while nurturing their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Thirty bright minds, carefully selected from diverse academic backgrounds, are poised to embark on a transformative journey. These students, a mix of 12 women and 18 men, will gain access to cutting-edge laboratories, tailored workspaces, and invaluable mentorship from industry leaders.
The program’s curriculum is robust, covering strategic management of intellectual property, brand development, business planning, and open innovation. Additionally, participants will engage in dialogue with renowned companies and seasoned professionals, gaining insights and forging connections that could shape their future ventures.
The inaugural event promises to be a highlight, featuring a riveting roundtable titled “Go Big or Go Home – Tools for the Internationalization of Start-ups.” Esteemed figures such as Angelo Baiguera, Barbara Franchin, and Massimiliano Guido will share their expertise, moderated by Cristiano Degano, a prominent figure in Friuli Venezia Giulia journalism.
Practical resources abound within the Clab, with students benefiting from state-of-the-art equipment including tablets, laser cutters, 3D printers, and milling machines. These tools, housed in the refurbished Commander’s House of the former Military Hospital, serve as the launching pad for innovation and experimentation.
As the program draws to a close, the spotlight will shine on the most promising entrepreneurial endeavors. Participants with standout projects will receive funding to kickstart their start-ups, along with opportunities to attend international workshops on technology transfer and business creation.
