In a mesmerizing blend of exploration and education, the National Antarctic Museum, nestled in Trieste at via Weiss 21, is set to host an enthralling event titled “The Antarctic Museum and the Stories of Those Who Have Been There” on Friday, May 17th.

The National Antarctic Museum, situated at via Weiss 21 in Trieste, is organizing an event titled “The Antarctic Museum and the Stories of Those Who Have Been There” on Friday, May 17th. This event, in collaboration with the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS) and the University of Trieste, offers a double guided tour free of charge, requiring prior reservation at museoantartide@units.it for a maximum of 10 participants per session.

Led by experienced guides, the tours aim to provide insight into the history of the Antarctic continent and ongoing scientific research conducted under the National Antarctic Research Project (PNRA). Participants will have the opportunity to engage with Ester Colizza from the University of Trieste and Daniela Accettella from OGS, who will share their experiences from various missions in Antarctica.

Scheduled at 2:00 PM and 2:45 PM, this event is part of the third edition of MAREinFVG, a festival celebrating the maritime world. Supported by mareFVG, Maritime Technology Cluster FVG, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and various regional stakeholders, the event aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the maritime community.
