In a celebration of both its rich cultural heritage and a quarter-century milestone as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic town of Aquileia in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy, is set to host a prestigious peace concert directed by Maestro Riccardo Muti. The event, scheduled for June 14th, promises to be a poignant display of harmony and unity, fittingly staged within the majestic Basilica dei Patriarchi.

Aquileia, often regarded as a symbolic beacon of the region, stands as a meticulously preserved gem under the guardianship of the Aquileia Foundation. This upcoming concert, orchestrated under the baton of Maestro Muti, embodies the essence of the town, long revered as a nexus for dialogue and understanding among diverse peoples.

The significance of this event extends beyond the local stage, poised to elevate the visibility of Friuli Venezia Giulia on an international platform. It underscores the region’s distinct aptitude for hosting and fostering impactful cultural gatherings, further cementing its status as a cultural hub.

Speaking at the unveiling of the concert, the regional assessore for Productive Activities and Tourism highlighted the burgeoning tourism in Aquileia and its surrounding areas, attributing the surge to a concerted effort in promotional campaigns by regional authorities and tourism bodies.

The concert itself, a collaboration between the Aquileia Foundation, the Society for the Conservation of the Basilica of Aquileia, and supported by PromoTurismoFvg, epitomizes the synergy between cultural preservation and contemporary expression.

With anticipation building, organizers have announced that the concert will offer free admission, with reservations opening on May 20th via the Eventbrite platform. To accommodate diverse audiences, a portion of the seating will be reserved for individuals under 35, with additional seating arrangements and a large screen set up outside the Basilica.

As the date approaches, all eyes are on Aquileia, eagerly awaiting a harmonious convergence of music, heritage, and the timeless pursuit of peace. For further details and updates, visit www.fondazioneaquileia.it and www.riccardomuti.com.
